Paypal IPN Setup Problem

Recommended Posts

I have read these forums for days... finding only questions... an answer would be nice. It looks like many have had this problem but solutions are thin in the forums.

Please help! I will send anyone who can resolve my issue an free CD of my latest CD. Rock/Rap... It rocks! ;) Anyway...

I am trying to get your PayPal IPN v0.981 module for OSCommerce Milestone 2 working with downloading files after payment. I did everything that the docs said to do and I cannot get anything other than "paypal processing' as the order status regardless of what I set the status to in the Paypal IPN payment module configuration. It will not offer the file up for download even if I have the order status set to delivered. I also never see any transactions in the Paypal IPN transaction section. I can get the 'Send Test IPN' to work but I cannot get it to work live. When doing it live, both the buyer and the seller get all info needed but the file is not available for download until after I manually change the customers order status to delivered in OSCommerce. Then the file is available for download.

All downloads work fine without the IPN module, but I wanted (or thought I needed IPN) to keep people from downloading a file, cancelling payment, and thus rippping me off. I thought the IPN contrib was designed to address this. If not let me know.

I have also set my notify URL to http://mysite.com/catalog/paypal_notify.php. It also does not matter if I have cURL turned on or off. I don't know what else to try. Any advise would be much appreciated. As you know... I must a URL in the config for the IPN payment module... What should this string look like:

e.g.

http://mysite/catalog/paypal_notify.php

https://mysite/catalog/paypal_notify.php I do have SSL. And if so... should cURL be on?

catalog/paypal_notify.php

of simply...

catalog/

It as for the location, to me that implies not specifiying the filename. Although I have tried all above and cannot get to work. Probably do to some other reason.

I will send you a free CD of our music if you can help me resolve this. ;)

Thanks....
