donthecat Posted May 29, 2004 Posted May 29, 2004 Hi, Some of my products are based on a Size / Colour Matrix. Which means that with the current attribute format, a buyer is not able to select either several colours or varied sizes. Any way I can offer a customet the option to buy more than 1 Tee-shirt and select say Size S and colour Blue for the 1st and Size M and colour Green for the second ? I know it must be a tough process, so I thought I could put a 100 character Text Box after the options where the buyer can enter the variations. This has to be obviously stored in the DB and sent along with the order. Any help appreciated in this direction.. Cheers --- DontheCat --- Obviously the truth is what's so Not so obviously, it's also so what.
cjtroiani Posted May 30, 2004 Posted May 30, 2004 The user could always put one color/size in the cart first and then add the same product with different colors/sizes to the cart after... ?
donthecat Posted May 30, 2004 Author Posted May 30, 2004 That would mean two orders is it not. The buyer swould get charged shippin fees twice for the same product. --- DontheCat --- Obviously the truth is what's so Not so obviously, it's also so what.
Databuilder Posted May 30, 2004 Posted May 30, 2004 Unless I misunderstand someting, this would not mean two orders. It would be one order with two shirts. Since shipping is charged per order, they would be charged for shipping on both shirts which is what you would want. What would be the difference between buying two shirts and putting size/color in a text box and buying two shirts with seperate attributes?
cjtroiani Posted June 19, 2004 Posted June 19, 2004 Exactly Jason... Good job :D Unless he is using flat rate shipping on a per item basis (which should be changed anyways). If that's the case, I would recommend doing a flat shipping rate based on price not per item.
donthecat Posted June 20, 2004 Author Posted June 20, 2004 The situation is like this A customer wants two Tees from the same design He wants one for himself and the other for his girlfriend. He wants a "L" in Blue and "S" in Green. So how does he order ? I'm not using flat rate shipping, I'm using weight based shipping charges based on Zones. The flat rate shipping will nopt work for me as within India itself we have several change in rates. The distances are pretty vast. --- DontheCat --- Obviously the truth is what's so Not so obviously, it's also so what.
