End of Sale Notice

I have a client that has a sale every 6 weeks that lasts about 6 hours. They would like to be able to enter a warning message that the sale will be over in 10 minutes so people with items in their cart will have time to checkout. I looked at the news contribs which may work, but I'm not sure. Is there a way for a broadcast popup or something similar shows up for all customers online saying store closes in 10 minutes. They client will type the message so that part doesnt have to be automatic.

 

Does this make sense? Anybody have any experience?
