changing tables ( xtra adding fields)

Hi All

 

I need to add an etra field to the products table and my first concern is (perhaps the only one) that this may effect something else, it more than like will effect something else.

 

So I guess I would like to know if there are any tip on how to see which pages and parts of code in other parts of oscommerce that will be effected?

 

I need to add an extra field (numeric) that will determine the minimum order quantity of a product, and will subsequently chnage the amount added to the cart.
