Money Making Idea Using Oscommerce... Help Wanted

Need help to possible modify coding see my offer at bottom of page. Here are the details of what I'm trying to achieve.....

 

 

The big thing in Internet marketing these days is building an opt-in database of potential customer emails. You usually do this by hooking them with free giveaways. You might offer them a free download something (Something worth value) right away to join your mailing list/newsletter. Next commit so sending them something new every week to keep them interested.

 

The key is when you have a large enough database, then the money making potential reveals itself. This can be achieved a number of different ways.

 

1) Create or buy (with resale rights) digital products and advertise to your database. Since they have already been getting quality free stuff, they are already "psychologically primed" to buy from you.

 

2) Charge for advertising space in your weekly newsletter that you send out with the free downloads.

 

3) And many, many others....

 

 

So here's the details of the plan using Oscommerce.

 

I run and store that sells digital products (E-books, Software, Scripts) and pay you can download the products.

 

Here is what I intend to do.

 

1) Every so often I will set the price of a valuable product to $0.00 (FREE).

 

2)Have anyone of my members that signed up through the oscommerce registration system, be able to add the product to their cart and go to checkout.

 

3)Then they should be able to download the product for free somehow from this page.

 

I tried a few things even using paypal trying to pay $.00 but least you can put is $.01

 

Now these closest I've come to this is to set the payment method to "Cash on Delivery"

 

This works fine but the problem with this is that they can just do that to any products on the site and download these for free as well. Obviously this is unacceptable and defeats the purpose.

 

Oscommerce is ideal for this idea because of its features;

 

a) email verification (opt-in)

B) customer database

c) send out newsletter to customer database

d) secured download location

 

 

This is my offer anyone wishing to help me I will help them do the same by giving some of my products to you for your help. I have a few on my site and I'm continually adding to this as my time allows. I have a large number of products that come with resell rights not on the site.
