large database

Hi,

 

I have a large database.. around 200,000 records. It is filled with automotive products- brakes, catalytic converters, mufflers, brackets, etc.

 

My goal is to import this database into osCommerce and setup them up into sensible categories like brakes, catalytic converters, and so on..

 

The tough part is that the database isnt structured as simple as that, I would have to do a bunch table joins (which im not too familiar with ) just to get it to somewhat resemble what im going for.

 

I've looked at the EasyPopulate contrib as a possibility, but does anyone have any suggestions to make this transition easier?

the best thing to do is to figure out what tables/fields are absolutely necessary for the products and then match those up to your database. 200,000 isnt really a large amount of records for MySQL
