hailstormxp
Hi, I am tasked with moving the store for the company I work for from one server to a new server. At first I believed it just to be a simple matter of copying across all the files and the store's database. I have done this, keeping all file permissions intact. I have made sure tha register globals is set correctly in php.ini as well. The configuration.php files I have looked over and checked to see if they are correct for the new server environment. When loading up the store none of it seems to work. All of the images are broken and none of the page seems to be being generated by php. In addition to this the css stylesheet isn't being loaded at all. I have performed a new installation of ms2 into a different folder and it works fine with no problems. I am by no means all that familiar with the workings of Apache or php so would really like some suggestions of what to check. i.e. config files, permissions etc etc. Many thanks, Simon
Guest
apache, php have nothing to do with it, you have to make sure your paths are correct. i move on average 2 to 4 sites a week for customers, and they have no problem what so ever.
hailstormxp
I've checked paths and checked them again. I'm getting really weird things happening. For example when trying to access a particular image that I know exists on the server I end up with a cannot find server message. I then am unable to access any pages at all on the server and keep on getting the same message. If I try it through another PC though it works fine still up until the point I try to access the oscom store. If I restart the webserver I can access the main html pages of our site and any images from it. If I try to access any of the images the store uses it does the same thing again. The images are stored in the same folder the main page ones are and have exactly the same permissions. I cannot make any sense of it. I would just conclude that our server is messed up but that doesn't really solve anything.

hailstormxp
OK my issue is I'm not so clueless that I don't know how to migrate an oscom store. The issue is Apache seems to be banning or blocking any clients that try to access anything oscom related. Even images used that are in a completely different folder outside of the oscom directory. hailstormxp
OK well I seem to have solved it. If I untar it then upload through windows it seems to work fine. Maybe because the file permissions were assigned to the previous server.
