Acess Denied during 7th Step, Installation

hi guys

i set the 2 include folders to 777

and i keep getting the Access Denied error

is there anything specific my virtual host account

has to have in order for this to work

please help

i love this product

i am dying to install it, i know this might be easy for you

but i have been trying for 2 days !

It is not the 2 include folders that you have to chmod to 777

But the 2 includes/configure.php files

 

It is your database setup that brings the error

OK tnx a lot bear.......that worked. ...BUT i get stuck in step 7 now....i did set the permission to 777 or 706 to both configure.php files (under admin and catalog) and now

i keep on getting this:

 

"The following error has occurred:

 

The configuration files do not exist, or permission levels are not set.

 

Please perform the following actions:

cd /home/virtual/site4/fst/var/www/html/oscommerce-2.2ms2/catalog/includes/

touch configure.php

chmod 706 configure.php

cd /home/virtual/site4/fst/var/www/html/oscommerce-2.2ms2/catalog/admin/includes/

touch configure.php

chmod 706 configure.php"

 

 

what does it mean: "...If you are running this installation procedure under a Microsoft Windows environment, try renaming the existing configuration file so a new file can be created...."

I had exactly the same problem that you are getting BUT only when installing the catalogue on my local pc. The problem was that the directories I am using were not shared.

 

not sure if that helps you tho'
