Need help with order count, plz (pretty pictures)

Can someone give me a hint about how to clear this up. I set up osCommerce for a friend and he has been running it now for about 3-4 month. I noticed recently that the "pending order" count is at "8".

 

 

But after selecting the "Pending" link I'm shown no pending orders.

 

 

Anyone have any ideas???

when you click orders from the customers box, does the same thing happen?

Hey Ryan, No... when I click "Orders" from the Customers box it shows me all orders in all stages of processing. However, I've noticed that something else strange is happening. After selecting "Orders" from the Customers box I use the drop-down list on the right side of the screen to view just orders that are "Processing", and an accurate listing is returned. However, if I go back to that drop-down list and select "All Orders" I get this...

Perhaps an answer to my own question... after reviewing the orders database I noted records that seemed to be duplicated over-and-over. Somewhere in the deep recesses of the gray-matter I seem to recall that the Authorize.net payment module that I'm using adds a record to the database even if the transaction fails. This would explain all the errant entries in the orders database. After I manually removed all the questionable entries the Pending Orders count reduced to the count of orders that were truly pending.
