Guest Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 I am getting the following error and it's asking me to do something that I have NO IDEA how to do or what it means. Can someone help me in newbie language? Here's the error: The configuration files do not exist, or permission levels are not set. Please perform the following actions: cd /u/htdocs/ppshea/catalog/includes/ touch configure.php chmod 706 configure.php cd /u/htdocs/ppshea/catalog/admin/includes/ touch configure.php chmod 706 configure.php Thanks!! Allie
AlanR Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 Use your ftp program to set the permissions on these two files to rrr www eee (777). Local: Mac OS X 10.5.8 - Apache 2.2/php 5.3.0/MySQL 5.4.10 • Web Servers: Linux Tools: BBEdit, Coda, Versions (Subversion), Sequel Pro (db management)
Guest Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 Thank you so much for responding. How do I use my FTP software to do this? I don't understand what it means by permission levels. Thanks!
AlanR Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 It depends on your ftp program. If you study a file in your program you'll probably find a menu item or suchlike which will let you change permissions. Guest Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 I use AceFTP. The only thing I can readily find is when I highlight the file, then click "properties".. there's a CHMOD Value that has "644" in it. It's a text box that allows that number to be changed. Is this it? Maybe someone else is familiar with AceFTP? <_< Thanks! Allie
