I am working on chandras script and I was needing to know can a text field have a price that increases the cost

I believe all fields can have a price :)

Will the problem is I am having no problem getting check boxes or drop downs to have a price increase but when i use text fields it puts the information in the cart but it doesn't increase the price

Would anyone know if this problem would be dealing more with the product_info.php or with shopping_cart.php

I would try checking the actual contribution support page in the contribution forums. Maybe others have had the same problem and found a solution.
