Guest
there is no problem with the setting at 644, in fact that is the preferred way, unless you have some other problem with your server.
Guest
hi it still shows the security warning on

vasttech
Are you using Windows or a Unix-based server? How are you trying to change it? Try using your hosts control panel, they should have a file manager where you can change the permissions. If you are using a Windows server and trying to use chmod you may get undesired results using a FTP program since chmod is not a windows command. osCommerce Knowledge Base osCommerce Documentation Contributions
adysheepy
Ive had this problem on a fasthosts system and they are right it is not an occomerce proplem. For some stange reason unknow to me on a linux server the hosting companys somtimes keep the chmod owner peermissions from being changed and you will have problems changing this However you can remove that warning and there will be no problems with chmod 664 as its onlty the owner permissions that are uncganged so unless they get into your server account they cant change antthing anyway Good luck adysheepy
peterr
Hi, The CMOD of 444 on configure.php is an overkill. Please see my post on Jan 27th 2004 in this thread: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=73797 For a one line change. :D It's been reported as a bug. Guest
 Hi Peter, I have the same problem. Yep and its Fasthosts who are the ISP. I edited the code and saved it back up to the server using Ipswitch FTP pro and viewed to see if the code had been changed. Yes its there.... Turn to the Catalog/includes.configure.php to CHMOD the file to 644..... Actually see the change occure on the attribs come out of ftp and then go back in .... Check the configure.php attributes eeeeeeek back to -rwx-------- I have sent a ticket to support so I am again in the lap of the gods............. Nice neat change to the code, but it is annoying to keep seeing the warning error appear when you know you must have chmod it at least 50 times.
