Orders Not Showing Up

Hi

I just placed my first test order in my own OSCommerce store and while I was charged via my PayPal module as a regular customer would be, and an email was sent to me with a receipt from PayPal, my own website never emailed me to tell me I had an order nor does the order show up in my Administration panel even though the customer (me) was successfully charged.

I have the PayPal module installed as my only payment option for now. I simply enabled it and set up the store's Configuration to send emails to 2 of my email addresses... my main email and then the "Extra Order Emails" address.

Is it possible I'm overlooking a setting somewhere that is preventing my store from seeing completed orders as complete?

This is my site Sunflower Blue

I appreciate any help you guys can give me. Thanks.

The most important for you right now is to work in the authorization area, dear Jacqueline, because I can login and see your admin area very easy just add in url admin, so a bad guy can make everything with your site. Don't make your site public until you do something with this big problem.

Regarding your question, I have not a solution but I think is a good idea to search in the db for the order you have made.I'm pretty sure it has to be somewhere even it is not show up in osc, I had problems with orders too when I worked with osc a few months ago, but I was able to see the orders by order number. :)

Thank you. Obviously I have no idea what I'm doing.

I went through Cpanel and password-protected the directory. I hope that's the right way to do it.

Thanks again.

Getting back to the missing order, I can't seem to find any evidence of an order having been placed no matter where I look, even when I look myself up as a customer and see my history- it says I bought nothing. :(

After using PayPal did you click the continue button and return to your site?

No I don't think I did. Does a customer have to do this in order to have their order show up on my end?

Ah-ha! I enabled the Check/Money Order module and then logged in again as a customer and placed an order using this method of payment, and the order showed up immediately.

Yikes! I will only be notified of a new order if the customer returns to my site after paying if they use PayPal? Is there any way around this?

Does the same apply if I used 2Checkout or Paysystems (and by the way, which does anyone think is better... I've seen all the threads about them but if anyone has anything new to say, I'd appreciate the input)

Thanks again for the help.

They do have to return for the order to be entered in the database. In your paypal account you can enable the autoreturn feature. The return address being Http://yoursite.com/checkout_process.php.

Another invaluable tool to assist you when they don't click continue is the Recover Cart Sales contribution. Found here:

Hope this helps. And always Backup...Backup...Backup
