Remove "Cart" and "Purchase" Options temporarily?

Hey all,

newb here to OSC, but oldie to php etc. I've got a customer who wants an online catalog of products available, but is hesitant to start with the online shopping cart for orders and submissions just yet. They say they'll want it "when we have the staffing to handle the orders" but until then just a catalog with prices etc.

 

Is there anyway to remove the "add to cart" and "check-out" links etc so that visitors can just browse the inventory for now and then when the client is ready enable these features so they can process online orders?

anyone? Can this possible be done by removing them in a template or something?
