Blowin Posted May 25, 2004 Posted May 25, 2004 Ok this is probably the dumbest question ever, but I've never had to enter a foreign address and am not sure that I'm doing it correctly. I need to be able to ship outside of the US and can't seem to get any address outside of the US to work. My question is this. What goes in the "State" field if the country doesn't have states? It's a mandatory field and has to be populated with something. Putting none doesn't work. I'm so beyond frustrated with this that I could cry! Any help is greatly appreciated!
Aziz Posted May 25, 2004 Posted May 25, 2004 lol... ur the first one to make think of that... i just made an account for a guy in yemen :P enter street address for street address leave suburb empty post code - secondary address (apartment) city: town or local area state: state country - coutry peace, --------------------------------
Blowin Posted May 25, 2004 Author Posted May 25, 2004 Ok, but here's the problem...not every country is broken down into "states". For instance, I got a good adress for Guam. Guam doesn't have states...so what goes in the "state" field? It's a required field. I cannot get any international orders to work!!!!
Blowin Posted May 25, 2004 Author Posted May 25, 2004 Ok somehow I am making this much harder than it needs to be! I'm missing something easy, I just know it! Let me ask you this, I have zone based shipping as I'd mentioned before. Do I need to go in the admin panel to Locations/Taxes then to Zones there and add all of the countries that I want to ship to? I have them listed in my shipping module, but can't get any of them to work! If I do need to do this, do I also have to know how that country is broken down? For instance, the US is in 50 states which are all listed there.
mattwho Posted May 25, 2004 Posted May 25, 2004 In Admin - Configuration - Minimum Values you can change the minimum value for state. Leave it empty to make it not be required.
Blowin Posted May 25, 2004 Author Posted May 25, 2004 That does make it so the state isn't required, but it didn't fix my problem of not being able to ship internationally...any other ideas?
Blowin Posted May 26, 2004 Author Posted May 26, 2004 How bout this. Can someone tell me the steps that they took to get THEIR international shipping to work correctly? Talk to me like I'm 5 yrs old because I'm missing an obvious piece here somewhere....
Aziz Posted May 26, 2004 Posted May 26, 2004 Ok.... let them enter whatever they want... its up to them.. or see which countries they are comming from and if they are comming from certain countries (that dont have states) tell them to enter the country name as state or leave it blank! --------------------------------
Blowin Posted May 27, 2004 Author Posted May 27, 2004 But that isn't working on my site for some reason. The international addresses seriously aren't working at all and I can't figure it out. If it would go thru with them putting in whatever they wanted, I'd be fine with that...but it doesn't work :(
