Osc images and Norton Internet Security 2004

Recommended Posts

I received an email from a customer saying that he could not view images on my site unless he a)disabled Norton Internet Security (NIS) 2004 or b)click the link to enlarge the image. Any seen this issue before? I am sure its not specific to NIS. My images folder is chmodded to 773. I'm thinking that may be the issue. Basically, I don't want browsers to enter domain.com/store/images and see a listing of all my images. What chmod are ppl using for the images folder.

i cant even remember what i CHMOD it to :D

but people being able to go through a sub directory and see the files.... thats horrible..

You can always stop that by protecting the directing in either way:

make an index.php in that directory that redirects to main page

make an .htaccess that specifies anyone enters that directory gets redirected to main page..

Jzk for the answer Aziz.

I think the index.php method is a good way to prevent viewing the files and also letting NIS users to see the images. I'll try it out.
