Modification Question

I'm looking at osCommerce as a solution for a company that just wants their customer to request a quote instead of actually ordering and paying for their products online.

Basically the customer would navigate through 90,000+ parts and add whichever ones they want to their cart. Then when they "checkout" an email would be sent, and a copy to the customer.

Is this feasible with osCommerce? How much modification would this require?

Thanks in advance for replies.

I think this is possible by;

1) Adding the 'Contribution' for adding multiple products to the cart -

This allows the customer to see all the products in a category in a list with a check box to add to cart all selected ones at once.

2) set the payment method to cashon delivery so it does not ask for a payment when they checkout

3) set the 'Send Extra order E-mails To' option in the admin configuration to send a copy of the order to whoever needs it.

May not be exactly what you want, but easily set up with the existing standard installation with the added contribution in 3) above.

Hope this helps.

Pewe.
