verneuil Posted May 25, 2004 Posted May 25, 2004 Hi to all, I'm a French online merchant and I would like to add videoclub capabilities to my OsCommerce video shop, in order to offer an Internet DVD rental service (i.e. you order from your computer and receive yours vids right into your postal mail box, NETFLIX being the reference in the US) - Do you know if such ready-made distant DVD-rental managing module would already exist and how I could acquire it? - If not, could anyone give me some advice on the easiest way of shifting the standard OsCommerce shop towards a rental platform? The online catalog is similar but the backoffice rules are quite different: recurrent billing, rental parameters,logistics... - Would you also know links to online videoclubs that would have been developped with OsCommerce? Do you think OsCommerce is a good solution for such a purpose? Thank you in advance for any help that could avoid me specifying and re-inventing the whole stuff! Cedric
John Doswell Posted May 25, 2004 Posted May 25, 2004 you could use some script like http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri.../search,billing and change it to your needs! also you would need some tweak for admin to get the overview of rented dvd`s. and last but not least you would need something like in stock display on the product info page, to show if its available or not. regards john ps. it might sound easy but at the end of the day i dont think it will be ;)
