Ok, decided to use the OScommerce for my startup business. I read about it before making the decision, and finalized OScommerce.

The installation (part of) goes smoothly except for the importing of the oscommerce.sql database structure. I receive the following:

New Installation

Database Import

The following error has occurred:

SQL file does not exist: /install/oscommerce.sql

I have verified that this file "DOES" exist, but am not sure why i am receiving this message. I have made the database "oscommerce_store" and provided the installation wizard with all the proper information, but i still receive this message regardless.

I am hosting on Windows Server 2003 Enterprise using IIS6,

PHP version: 4.3.6-win32

MySQL version: 4.0.18-win

I also have phpBB 2.0.8a installed, as well as mySQL Command center 0.9.4-win32, and phpmyadmin 2.5.6.

If necessary, i can provide other information if need.

Any help as to how i can get past the importation step succesfuly, would be greatly appreciated.

since you have phpMyAdmin you can use that to manually install the sql

startup phpMyadmin and in the left hand frame select the database, then in the right hand frame select the SQL tab and use the browse button located beside the window for sql query to locate the sql file on your local machine then click go.

That should be the job done unless there is an error in the sql

When i do the above actions, i receive a "No tables in database found" error.

Can I just create a blank table and proceed to import the .sql file?

I'm not used to MySQL databases, so this is a first time working with it this deep.

No.

Are you selecting the correct file as the sql file

You said in your earlier post that you had created the database thus when you connect with phpMyAdmin you should be able to select the database that you created from the left hand window, with this database selected you should see in the right hand window at the top some tabs starting from left:

Structure

SQL

Export

Search

Query

Drop

select SQL then still in the right hand window you should have this:

Run SQL query/queries on database mysql [Documentation] :

[this is representative of the text box]

[checkbox] Show this query here again

Or Location of the textfile :

[this is representative of the text box][browse Button] (Max: 32,768KB)

Compression: (radio button) Autodetect (radio button) None (radio button) "gzipped"

[Go Button]

you click the [browse Button] select the sql file then click the [Go Button] that is all there is to it.

No looks like you did it correct so either the sql is corrupt or something.

Try going back to the stage of your first image and instead of browsing to the sql open the sql file and select all then copy and in the query window shown in your first image paste the contents of the sql file then click go
