jjanguda
On Payment Information page at checkout, I have two payment options(by credit card or cash on delivery) If my customer choose cash on delievery, then what will happen? Isn't that better to change it to "Money Order or Personal Check on Delivery"? What do you think about this idea?
Guest
thi sis all a personal preference, one thing to consider if you accept personal checks on delivery, is they could be forged checks, they may not have any money in the accounts, or the account could be closed. then how do you get the money from your products? better off to make it so they have to send you in the money first, prior to shipping. jjanguda
Thanks for your advice. Before I go even further.. What does cash on delivery mean? Does it mean that I'll send my customers the order(product) if they send me cash first? what I want to do is I get their check or moeny order and send them the products if the check or meony order is clear. If my customer sends me cash before I ship the item, money could get lost while delivered? I may disunderstand what cash on delievery... term... How should I handle this issue then? Blowin
cod means that you ship the product PRIOR to getting any money from the customer. The customer pays whomever delivers the product and you eventually see the money after that. May work for some shops, but for most, it's not a great idea! Guest
Cash on Delivery means as it says the customer pays the deliverer the money. You instruct the delivery only to delivery the package when receiving the amount you told the customer to pay. Only thing what could happen is that the customer declines and you get the package back and that means you have paid for the cash on delivery fee without getting anything out of it. The way I handle it is that the customer pays the shipping. No matter whether they need to pay in advance in my bank account or paypal or they want cash on delivery. So they always pay it but if they don't want the cash on delivery I still need to pay the fee and that is a cost for me. Richard B)
