payment gateway by category

Hi all!

I am making a site where most items will be for sale through a single payment gateway but I also want to offer a small set of products through another gateway. I would rather avoid having two seperate OSCommerce stores to achieve this. Does anybody know of any community contribution that I could use for this purpose? Multi-store looks interesting

but it is not clear to me if each of the multiple store-fronts can be set to have different single gateways. In a related question, how does one contact people who submit contributions if you need more info?
