Disable some features

I want to disable chekout option. The thing is i dunt know how. In theroy it doesnt matter if uits enabled as logn as links to it arent on the site.

 

SO does anyone know how to Either disable it completly. Or remove the following links

 

Remove it from the top panel on all pages. There is the menu:

 

Log Off l My Account l Cart Contents l Checkout (i want this checkout one gone)

 

ALso

 

on the Cart COntents page there is a big graphic link

 

"Checkout"

 

Please help me remove this
