HELP!! Orders not being commited

I was sensing something has been wrong with my site so I did a test order and when I clicked the Confirm Order button I was kicked out to the "Welcome, please log in" page and the order was not taken but Authorize.Net did receive the transaction, but the customer (me, in this case) is not sent any emails either.

 

Please, help me because I don't have a clue?????

Holy, Moly! I fixed it!

 

I don't know why this happened, but earlier this week I playing with the Configurations | Session area of the Administration pages and I changed Check IP Address to "true". I was looking through all the admin settings and I rmembered I changed this setting, so I changed it back to "false" and now I get my orders perfectly.

 

I am borrowing the SSL host from my Hosting provider (iPowerWeb) and I don't know if this has something to do with it, but just in case I am offering it.

 

 

I hated the feeling when I discoverd this error and I am a seasoned web/PHP developer and I had no idea where to check? So I can imagine how someone who is bearly starting out would feel.

 

For that reason, I am going to add some keywords in case someone has this problem in the future.

 

 

Keywords: logged out confirm order confirmation welcome page orders not taken

 

 

Resulting URL was https://secure.authorize.net/gateway/transact.dll

 

I hope this never happens to anyone, it SUCKS!!!
