I get this error mssg when i go to my ADMIN tools database back up...

Error: Backup directory does not exist. Please set this in configure.php.

This is what is in my configure.php

define('DIR_FS_BACKUP', DIR_FS_ADMIN . 'backups/');

This is also in my ADMIN under tools....

Backup Directory: /hsphere/local/home/cann/cann.com//admin/backups/

I am not sure what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is there in the admin directory a directory "backups"

It is not there by default so you must add a directory in your admin directory.

Check it out

Please read carefully:

there must be a directory (not a backup.php file) a directory, check it out if it is there..??

If there is no directory just make one:

Go with your FTP tool to the admin directory and check if there is a directory named:

backups

If not make one, if that is done try to make a backup with the backup tool in the admin as you tryed before..!!

Well I got part of it. I added a folder to that directory named Backups. It eliminated the first error message that the backup directory does not exist, but now I get a new error message that says

Error: Backup directory is not writeable.

I think i must be getting closer, now what?

Again with your FTP tool to de admin directory, right click muisbutton on the BACKUPS directory choose to change CMOD setting, set it to 777

Maybe your FTP tools is differend as the one I have, but you must CMOD this directory backups to 777
