SSL Problems

Guest

Recommended Posts

I installed os commerce awhile ago but then left it because I didnt have an ssl certificate. I do have one now setup for https://sharedsecure.dreamwaydesigns.com

My site was originally installed to do ssl

On my control panel for my server, I setup ssl which is https://sharedsecure.dreamwaydesigns.com/dreamwayonline/ it then makes a folder called secure in your directory... which files do I place in that? I did put files like login, account, etc in there and i just get no input file specified error.

What should I do?

I'm not sure if I need to change a config setting.... or maybe its something to do with how my server sets up ssl.

Please advise.

My site is www.dreamwayonline.com

*Copy* the entire site to this directory (simplest way)

You will need to edit both your /includes/configure.php files to show your secure server paths, and to enable SSL

so here is my one config file..(most of it)

let me explain how my server works... it creates https://sharedsecure.dreamwaydesigns.com/dreamwayonline

(this is also the path that os automatically wants to go to when you click on like the login button).... and for the site.... (www.dreamwayonline.com) it places a folder (secure) in the root directory to put your secure pages in... ie: www.dreamwayonline.com/secure

as you told me to... i put all of my files in the secure folder... but now everything is messed up.. i have not changed config files... also now when you go to dreamwayonline.com it doesnt display anything now because the index file is not in the root directory... please advise.

did you copy or move the files, there is a difference, to copy is to duplicate.

you may be able to change the http path to be the same as the https path

This:

define('HTTPS_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'dreamwayonline.com');

should be:

define('HTTPS_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'sharedsecure.dreamwaydesigns.com');

this:

define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/dreamwayonline/');

should be:

define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/');

Yes, be consistent.

Which is it? dreamwayonline.com or dreamwaydesigns.com?

This is not rocket science. Just by looking at the configure file you can see how the different strings get added together to point to the correct destinations.

the thing is.... www.dreamwayonline.com is my store url... but my ssl was registered for sharedsecure.dreamwaydesigns.com

my server then makes a directory for dreamwayonline.com like this... sharedsecure.dreamwaydesigns.com/dreamwayonline

it then puts a /secure folder in the root of my dreamwayonline.com site

Well, you'll just have to get that changed won't you?

Do you expect it to work when the domains are pointing to different places?

brayden,

Could you please explain how did you fixed the problem on your server to work ssl?

I installed OsCommerce on a FreeBSD, it works fine with http non secure server.

I am having problem with ssl.

Could some one help me how to make a virtul server work for ssl?

ssl works with the main server root. But it is not working for virtual server.

Thank you

Harvard
