ok, i moved the directory back out to the root. but it still doesn't work, any more ideas? =(

Here's a copy of includes/application_top.php that fixes two known problems with 1&1 servers.

 

One is common with a lot of servers, on first load the layout screws up because of the php version. The ini_set ( 'session.use_trans_sid', 0); line.

 

The second (around line 41) is a problem getting the padlock in ssl. I've never seen a site need these to cure the problem you're having but they're needed anyway. This is a complete copy of the file direct from a working server.

Until you get it working I'd dump that geotrust logo and link at the bottom since external links can cause mixed content errors.

 

Only put stuff like that in after you get the basics working because you can have so many variables you'll never figure out what's going wrong.

They just upgraded the php version today. Earlier today the phpinfo showed 4.2.3

 

Now it's Version 4.3.6

 

My servers have changed too. It's about time.

Still no luck, even with the new application top. Any other ideas? i really appreciate your help.

I'd revert back to the stock install and work up to where you are now. You probably changed something that's screwing things up.
