Linking homepage to store

Hello,

I am having trouble creating my homepage using references to the pages in my store. My domain links to the index file in my "www" folder If I try to link anything in that file to any php file in my catalog folder I keep getting parse errors. For example, I simply copied the catalog-index.php file to my www folder and there was a parse error, the links could not find what they were looking for. This makes sense to me because I am now in a different directory so what I did was change the link from:

require('includes/application_top.php');

to:

require('mystore/nfoscomm/catalog/includes/application_top.php');

Now I get a parse error on the php files that the file application_top.php links to. Once I am able to open this file shouldn't the directory change and the links remain operational? I am certain that I am in the application_top.php file because the error refers to it. How can I get this to work so that my homepage will work with my store and maintain the same format?

Thank You,

Steve
