Removing Session ID from images links

Hi All,

 

I am working on my store (based on MS2) and I've modified all of the pages which display pictures to use some PHP image thumbnail creator, on-the-fly.

This works great, except that when I enable in this script (phpThumb.php) its neat feature that caches all the images and improves speed, it doesn't really work because it caches each picture with its session ID, so when another user enteres the store it creates another copy in the cache and so on...

 

Is it possible to tell OSC not to add the session ID to the image links ?

 

Should it work propely or it may have any potential problems ?

Have you tried forcing the session ID into a cookie (not in the URL)?

 

Admin > Configuration > Sessions > Force Cookie Use.

 

I've used this (I think it's this setting) on a few stores for search engine friendliness, seems to remove session id's from the URLs completely.

 

I'm looking to use phpThumb on a forthcoming store so would be interested to know how you got on!
