index page

should there be an index page with the download?. When I point browser to www.mysite.com/comersus I get an index of the comersus dir. instead of the setup page or what ever I'm suppose to get to config the software.

if you are getting that, it means most likely that php is not installed.

 

place the following in a file by itself, in the root directory of your server and then execute it. name it phpinfo.php

if it still does that, means you need to talk with your host about installing php or making it so php files are 'parsed' by the system, via the httpd.conf file for addtype.

Now what?

IF you have working php in your host and possibility to use database server, then you just point to the catalog you uploaded the oscommerce. There must be index.php file, which start to graphical install.

I did a search for an index page in all dir none found.

index.php must be the key.

Try to point directly: www.yorserver.com/catalog/index.php

If there is suppose to be an install dir. the downloads did not come complete. I download both versions. The new and the Alternate distribution using Parent Path. The both don't have an install dir. or a index.php

Comersus is not an osCommerce cart it is an asp cart not php

Comersus has its own forum for this cart
