Guest Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 First, I couldn't get osCommerce 2.2 to work for some reason. And I tried osCommerce 2.2J because I want only English and Japanses, it worked. So I left it that. Then I started adding some contributions, my store is not working at all. I want to try osCommerce 2.2 again (not the Japanses one), but I want to transfer categories, store info, manufacture name etc to soon-to-be newly installed osCommerce 2.2 from what I got running right now. How can I do that?
peterr Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 Hi, If I understand the problem correctly, you want to: 1. Use the data from the 'old' store 2. Re-install osC Just use a tool like 'phpmyAdin' to export all your database information to a file. Then re-install osCommerce, and use the exported (SQL) file for the install. Peter
Guest Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 Hi Peter, Thank you for your reply. I see that I can export files using phpMyAdmin. However, I don't have enough space to upload new os to my server. Since I am still working on this, I still have my old non-os store on it. So I cannot have two os in my server at same time. I don't know how I can do that if old os has to be on my computer rather than on the server.
Guest Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 Maybe if I can leave only neccesary things in the old oc folder, can I export that way? If so, I need to know what I need to leave in. I want to transfer category/subcategory, manufacture name, product.
chrisstylez Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 all you really need to do is change your config file to match your new settings and also make sure that you have imported all data from the old database, if you need help i can do it for you, it also sounds like you need some webspace. ill give you some space on my server for free.
