Site lagging at times

Hi

I've installed oscommerce onto my site for bout the last 2 weeks now with ssl. Bout 90% of the time the sites fine and loads smoothly. However the other times everything I click on has about a 3 second lag on it. This lagging could go on for a few hours at times before everything is fine again. Would this be a hosting issue or more so problems with my oscommerce installation, configuration or database. Anyone experience similar issues??

If it's erratic it's most likely server or network load. Osc is not changing if you're not changing it.

if u have that problem constantly then perhaps best to inform the host of this, and to get it tracked, if continues after that then change hosts

yes I have informed my hosting company. its just that i was worried it may be an issue with my sql database or oscommerce installation and configuration. i am tempted to try and reinstall oscommerce from scratch again with a brand new database but i've added a few contributions and done alot of customising and products etc so i dont want to go through all that again. Thanks for your responses.
