Cocaberry Posted May 19, 2004 Posted May 19, 2004 How can i still have search engine friendly URLS with configuration>my store>use search engine safe urls set to false? When i had it set to true i was getting internal server errors trying to browse the site. EP
k9Australia Posted May 21, 2004 Posted May 21, 2004 Hi Cocaberry I'm no techo, but I got the SE friendly thing working 'out of the box'. So I would give it a go setting the flag back to true and trouble shooting the error. Does your host have the right settings in place for the rewrite to happen ? Maybe you need to use a .htaccess file to override some specific server settings. If you search on here I think there are some other contributions that can make SE friendly URL's (go to the Contributions section of the support site) but judging by the effort involved I'd still be tempted to get the basic in-application one working first. Maybe more specific details of the error and if it is on one or all pages would help troubleshoot the issue, and details of what host you're using etc. ? Good luck Carl
perpetual-burn Posted May 21, 2004 Posted May 21, 2004 U dot need to have it on, its ok and 'freindly as is' just put prevent spider sesiosn to true
Cocaberry Posted May 21, 2004 Author Posted May 21, 2004 With prevent spider session on can spiders still index my site?
agiftcodotcom Posted May 21, 2004 Posted May 21, 2004 They can index it, they just won't start a session. (they won't go shopping :D ) Contributions I used : Updated 06-13-04 23:42 ---------------- Vote on My Graphis Poll
Guest Posted May 26, 2004 Posted May 26, 2004 I receive an error message when I have safe URL on. None of the products in the catagories appear so turned safe URL off. CAn I still use mod_rewrite?
