Drop Shimpment

I carry no inventory and all merchandise is handled through a drop shimpment program wherein the software simply provides the item number/quantity and address to the distributer via e-mail or an automated report. Previous sites that I hosted had facilities built in to take care of this. Is this possible with osCommerce or do I need to generate these reports manually?

I am also interested in some sort of drop-ship contribution.

 

Gamerigs... thanks for your response. I have looked at the contribution and it may be useful. What I envision, however, (and perhaps djennings does too) is a drop ship feature that will actually automatically email the drop ship supplier the an order.

So when customers orders product 1 and 5, let us say 5 is a drop ship product, then the supplier of product 5 will get an email that provides the necessary info such as:

- My account number with them

- The product(s) to ship

- The customers shipping details

- The shipping method to use (if these is one than one option).

 

 

I have looked through the contributions and don't see anything like this.

 

Has anyone else come accross or created something that will do this?

Is there anyone that would be interested in programming something like this?

I'm definatly interested in something for drop shipping as well. I'd even be happy with being able to email the packing slip or invoice straight to my drop shipper.

 

Any suggestions?

Does anyone know if there is such a feature / add-on available at this time?

It was nearly two years ago that various people, myself included, were looking for a way to support drop shipping of products and to automatically notify the drop shipper.
