Do you need to protect your includes folder?

Hello, ive been up and running for a month now and everything is cool.

 

I've just realised that even though i have the admin folder password protected, do i need to protect the includes folder with the 'configure.php' file in it as this file contains my password - can anyone see this, should it be chmod' read only?

Just chmod the configure.php file to 644 - not the folder.
