MySQL and Microsoft Access?

Hi all,

I'm just getting my OSC store going and attempting to load my 2000+ products.

Rather than individually typing the info into OSC, I've linked MSAccess directly to the mysql tables.

Although a bit slow, it is definitely much faster than typing the info and I've managed to figure out where the data is stored and I've successfully uploaded 200 or so products which are stored in multiple categories.

I'm finding a couple of challenges though. One is data clean-up as what has been entered into Quickbooks isn't as orderly as it should be. The other challenge is getting products in the appropriate categories. A form which gives me the opportunity to assign categories to products should do the trick though.

I've worked out a system where I store the data in the MSAccess database, link it to the quickbooks data, clean the data up and then append it to my Mysql tables.

Anyone out there using this method to update OSC? Any tips or suggestions?

Best wishes,

Mary
