Lucky Bastard Posted May 17, 2004 Posted May 17, 2004 Interesting thread, I had a *similar* question here (first question), that remains unanswered : http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=90281&hl= Any help would be appreciated.
Guest Posted May 17, 2004 Posted May 17, 2004 Not 100% sure if this is exactly what you would be after but I think that it may be your best option to use more than one store. If you take a look at the below contributions it may be just what you are looking for. http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...ns,1534/page,16 or http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...ns,1730/page,16 I also see that you only want prices to appear when customers login take a look at the below URL. http://wiki.oscommerce.com/helpHowtoDisablePrices I hope this has been of some assistance. Lucky Bastard Posted May 17, 2004 Author Posted May 17, 2004 Thanks for your reply. That isn't really what I was after. I have pretty much combed the contribs and didn't see any that really match my requirements (at least last time I checked). I only want the one site, but only certain products (based on the category they belong to) to be visible to certain customers that belong to a group (so yes a customer belong to a group will have to log in to see their groups *private products*). Of course there can be any number of private groups, but a customer can only belong to one group and a product can only belong to one group(or in osC lingo - category). Eg..people from Company A who log in can see all generic products PLUS products belonging to a Category assigned specifically to Company A. People from Company Z who log in can see all generic products plus products that belong to their private category. Of course people from Company A and Z who AREN'T logged in won't see their private product/category till they log in. Also people off the street that don't belong to either Company A or Z won't be able to view these private products. Notes: The administrator assigns manually through admin or direct DB access a customer to these private groups (new field required, don't want to use company field for privacy reasons - ie.somebody may guess private groups name and see their products) Any suggestions on how to do this? I can't imagine in would be thathard for PHP/osCommerce gurus, but then again I may be wrong :D Anyone up for the challenge??LOL! <_<
stevency Posted July 21, 2004 Posted July 21, 2004 Yes, I have the same requirement. Any one can provide solution even if charge is needed? Any reply would be appreciated, thanks.
JEWbacca Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 This can be done by using two contributions. Seperate Pricing Per Customer -- http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,716 This will let you create your customer groups, you don't have to set them up with different prices, but you can if you so wish. All customers will default to the first customer group and then the admin can change/update a customer to a group at any time. Hide products from customer groups for SPPC -- http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,3059 This will then let you hide products based off which group the customer is a assigned to. Good Luck. Nate
