smashing Posted May 17, 2004 Posted May 17, 2004 After my site has been up for about 2 months now I would like to do a general makeover mostly in the colors. This would involve changing a lot of the buttons on the site, and of-coarse the stylysheet.css. I want the visitors that have already viewed my site though to be able to see the new version right away - not the older version that's already stored in their browser's cache. I thought of giving stylesheet.css a different name thus forcing a new download of styles - but is it refrenced all other the place or just in one spot? Also I would rename all the buttons for example /button_in_cart.gif to new_/button_in_cart.gif and so on... so that the newer ones are immediatly displayed instead of the older ones in the cache. Again is this possible to do without delving into each and every file in the site?
agiftcodotcom Posted May 17, 2004 Posted May 17, 2004 You could also use the skin selector in my signature which would allow you guest to view your old version if they prefer. Just make you new version the "default" version. Contributions I used : Updated 06-13-04 23:42 ---------------- Vote on My Graphis Poll
