Purchased Template Online - How Do I Install?

I've tried to search for info on this that I would understand, but alas found nothing.

 

How do I make the new template I purchased active on my site? The file is a .tar.gz file...whatever that is:)

 

Thanks in advance for your help, I'm new to all this stuff and really don't know much of anything yet.
