New help on configuration

Hi I am a very new to php software. I signed up with our web-hosting company and i wish to use their osCommence to create online website to sell my item

 

But I not sure how to start. Please help what/where should I start first.

I'ma bit of a newbie also, but it doesn't take long to pick up. The best advice I can give is start here...

It looks to me like you are well on your way. Heck at least nothings broke yet.

 

Make sure you copy what you have now to a back up. I would do this immediately before you go any further. It is unbelieveable how fast things can go wrong and even more so the time it takes to recover especially when it is a mistake like leaving off a ' or a ; or a ) . Any of those little things can cause things to just vanish before your eyes.

 

BACKUP - Start in admin and backup your database. Then ftp down your whole store to a new directory. You now have a complete backup.

 

I would also reccommend downloading the ms2 release from here at oscommerce. I have noticed that hosting companies often do not have the latest release of osc. This will also help once you begin implementing addons. You will always have a working store to refer back to.
