loginbox on html pages

Recommended Posts

Is there any way to add the loginbox in other pages beside php, like html. I want to place the loginbox that i have on my cart in my html home page. When the customer logs in then they can be redirected to either the shopping cart or my page of choice. Any ideas?

I finally got it to work. What you have to do to have users logon to their shopping cart account from any non-php page is this:

In the template HTML, do the following:

1. Change the 'action' attribute of the 'form' tag

to http://www.domainname.com/catalog/login.php?action=process

2. Change the 'name' attribute of the username 'input'

tag (or box) to 'email_address'

3. Change the 'name' attribute of the password 'input'

tag (or box) to 'password'

Note: Substitute your actual domain name for www.domainname.com

This will allow a user to logon to their account from any page on your site other than the your oscommerce cart (html, asp, htm, etc..). Just remember that the user will be redirected to the shopping cart so you might want to place a link to return them to your previous page. This is ideal for sites that have a different home page rather than being sent straight to the shopping cart.
