Index.php help

Guest

Recommended Posts

Sorry for all the questions - im a newbie.

I want to remove the welcome heading title and the picture to the right of it in the index.php file. I want the Welcome guest (or member) info on the top instead so I dont want any space there either.

I dont want to delete the wrong info from the file. Any help?

Chris

Go to your catalog/includes/languages/english/index.php file and change the text in this section between the tick marks. Also remember to deliniate any hyphens, i.e. if you write the word that's it should look like this (that\'s)

define('TEXT_MAIN', ' ');

Always remember, we need patience, guidance and most of all understanding.

To remove the picture change this

        <td class="pageHeading" align="right"><?php echo tep_image(DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'table_background_default.gif', HEADING_TITLE, HEADING_IMAGE_WIDTH, HEADING_IMAGE_HEIGHT); ?></td>

to this

        <td class="pageHeading" align="right"><?php //echo tep_image(DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'table_background_default.gif', HEADING_TITLE, HEADING_IMAGE_WIDTH, HEADING_IMAGE_HEIGHT); ?></td>

in your index.php file.

You can comment out the same code in each file where you don't want the picture to show.

I have looked in the dir:

includes/languages/english/

and

catalog/

But I can't seem to fine any of the following code:

<td class="pageHeading" align="right"><?php echo tep_image(DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'table_background_default.gif', HEADING_TITLE, HEADING_IMAGE_WIDTH, HEADING_IMAGE_HEIGHT); ?></td>

so I would like to know where 2 look?

If you want to remove the welcome text I already told you how to take care of that. In your catalog/include/languages/english/index.php file you can remove all of the text between the ' ' marks on the

define('TEXT_MAIN', ' ');

Remember to keep you links to "Login in" or "create account"

Yes I know how to do that. But I'm now looking to remove all the table_background_____.gif images from the standard pages. They are found in between the left and right coloum which is the body coloum and then found on the top right hand of the main body.

The issue is that there are different images being used on different pages so you will have to search for part of the code

<td class="pageHeading" align="right"><?php echo tep_image(DIR_WS_IMAGES .

and then double check that you have the correct section of code by looking at the last part

, HEADING_TITLE, HEADING_IMAGE_WIDTH, HEADING_IMAGE_HEIGHT); ?></td>

To remove the picture change this

 ? ? ? ?<td class="pageHeading" align="right"><?php echo tep_image(DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'table_background_default.gif', HEADING_TITLE, HEADING_IMAGE_WIDTH, HEADING_IMAGE_HEIGHT); ?></td>

to this

 ? ? ? ?<td class="pageHeading" align="right"><?php //echo tep_image(DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'table_background_default.gif', HEADING_TITLE, HEADING_IMAGE_WIDTH, HEADING_IMAGE_HEIGHT); ?></td>

in your index.php file.

You can comment out the same code in each file where you don't want the picture to show.

Thanks for the info but I have done this and on the main catalog page the picture still comes up and Im not sure why:

<td class="pageHeading"><?php echo HEADING_TITLE; ?></td>
           <td class="pageHeading" align="right"><?php //echo tep_image(DIR_WS_IMAGES . $category['categories_image'], $category['categories_name'], HEADING_IMAGE_WIDTH, HEADING_IMAGE_HEIGHT); ?></td>

Above is what I changed it to and it appears to be the same as you posted. My site is at www.rustysoaptraders.com/catalog

I ma not sure what you are talking about,

but the image I dislike,

I just remove all color and cut to 1x1 pixel and upload,

about the pixel-trans.gif,

go to include/class/boxes.php and fix hight to 0 is what I did.

I hope it helps.
