vcache Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 I say semi-live simply because I haven't started advertising yet. Basically what I am looking for at this point is suggestions/comments/praise/critisism (prefereably constructive). Yes...I do realize it is semi-stock and looks somewhat stock, but I'm still learning the front-end design stuff. mark27uk3 Posted April 29, 2004 Posted April 29, 2004 Hi vcache, Heres my thoughts on your store: 1. I would change your header image, as it stands it looks more like a banner image than a title to your store. 2. The tool images are to small and blurry to be of any use. I presume these images are being called from outside your store as they take a while to load. 3. I would take the mission statement out of the footer and use that in the main page area (it will also reduce the amount of scrolling that visitors need to do). I have not delved deeper into your store, I will keep looking and if there is anything else I will let you know. Mark Lifes a bitch, then you marry one, then you die!
wvmlt Posted April 29, 2004 Posted April 29, 2004 I agree about the logo; it looks more like an advertising banner than a logo. If it was me, I would remove the "reviews" box until you have some reviews to show. In the FAQ's the first question----Your prices seem to low......the to should be too and on the last question the answer states----Whether your looking.......the your should be you're or you are. All in all I think it's a great looking site. Keith What the hell was I thinkin'?
vcache Posted May 3, 2004 Author Posted May 3, 2004 ok...took out the reviews box, fixed the typos and changed to logo.. mark27uk3 Posted May 3, 2004 Posted May 3, 2004 Hi Mark, Personally myself I would change the logo completely, it looks very unprofessional. Make the background colour all the same and make the info box border a single line instead of 2. Mark Lifes a bitch, then you marry one, then you die!
vcache Posted May 4, 2004 Author Posted May 4, 2004 unfortunately I'm not a graphics designer... :( basically I kinda suck at making graphics Contribs added: AdminLogin-Catalog With Images-Credit Class/Gift Voucher-CoolMenu EasyPopulate-LoginBox-Paypal Shopping Cart IPN-PDF Catalogs Product Listing In Columns - Image Strip -- ...the young jedi said to his master "you want me to do WHAT?"
vcache Posted May 6, 2004 Author Posted May 6, 2004 Well...looks like going live is going to have to be put off. My supplier isn't keeping me updated on *anything* (such as when products are removed...products go out of stock, new products are added, they change their prices etc). Apparently they just expect me to go through their entire freakin website constantly to what has changed...so I'm going to have to find another supplier.
