Admin Tool won't write to db

<_< After geting OSC installed and apparrently running I am now trying to get it configured. Problem is when I make changes through the ADMIN tool it doesn't write to the db. Erases the sample data, but won't write to it. I have double and triple checked permissions, both user and specific files, and reinstalled OSC a 3rd time. Any ideas. :(

Not being able to write to the database sounds like a Permissions error. I know that you checked and re-checked the permissions and reinstalled it but that's what I am guessing.

 

Have you checked your server's log for errors? Perhaps that will pinpoint the problem.

That's what I thought. But I am starting to think I may have a compatiblity problem. I thought I saw somewhere in the docs that OSC needed MYSQL version 4.0 or higher. Is that the case do you know. I am still trying to find the logs to tell db queries. Thanks for trying to help me out. ;)

no you do not need mysql 4 or higher, works fine on 3, as i have lots on 3.

 

could be a bad load of the database, or the code. try to reinstall the database via mysql connector, phpmyadmin, etc.

 

could also be that the permissions you setup on the database limited you.

I am using phpmyadmin but I am not sure how to go about reinstalling the db? I did run a repair on the tables and then ran a check, and everything checked ok. I will play aroung with it.
