sellinbiz Posted April 25, 2004 Posted April 25, 2004 Hello, I had a designer build my Oscommerce store. I don't know anything about it. I now want to submit a data feed to Froogle. Is there a way to automatically have your store generate these? I'll pay someone reliable to have this set up if it's possible. Or if it's something simple to do from the CP I guess I can do it myself. Please let me know either way. Thank you, Bryan
windf4ll Posted April 25, 2004 Posted April 25, 2004 I think the easiest way to do this would be to write a (in my case, perl) script that reads the data from the oscommerce database, creates the formatted Froogle feed (RSS feed would be another possibility), and sends the file on its way. You could then setup a cron job (or scheduled task in windows) to have the thing update as often as you need. I would be willinging to help you out with this if interested - feel free to contact me off-list at [email protected].
windf4ll Posted April 25, 2004 Posted April 25, 2004 Or you could use one of the contributions here: http://www.oscommerce.com/community?contri...le&category=all (sorry, I didn't see these existed before I answered)
sellinbiz Posted April 26, 2004 Author Posted April 26, 2004 I'm very new to this I downloaded the Froogle Data Feeder v1. I understand I have to install it in my stores files. However, I can't even find "catalog\admin\froogle.php" in my stores files.
Pharkie Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 I seem to remember Easypopulate having download options to feed to Shopping.com and maybe Froogle. Check it out in Contributions and in forum threads? Adam
windf4ll Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 sellinbiz: i'm not sure what you mean by store files, but the froogle.php file is one of the files in the zip file you downloaded from the contrib site. You have to put this file in the catalog\admin directory (which should be why you can't find it there). Then follow the rest of the steps in the readme. Hope that helps.
