When I log in my admin and click on backup I get error:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/virtual/site54/fst/var/www/html/iadmin/includes/functions/general.php:733) in /home/virtual/site54/fst/var/www/html/iadmin/includes/functions/general.php on line 18

This is the function in admin/includes/functions/general.php (although in my copy it is not at line 733):

// Sets timeout for the current script.
// Cant be used in safe mode.
?function tep_set_time_limit($limit) {
? ?if (!get_cfg_var('safe_mode')) {
? ? ?set_time_limit($limit);
? ?}
?}

The wiki advice (also old and not relating to the same line number) is to comment out the line that calls set_time_limit:

http://wiki.oscommerce.com/WarnSetTime

What seems odd to me is that the code quoted above appears to check the configuration variables for safe mode and avoid the call. Must not be working.

set_time_limit($limit); 733

Replace it with

// Sets timeout for the current script.
// Cant be used in safe mode.
function tep_set_time_limit($limit) {
  if (!get_cfg_var('safe_mode')) {
//   set_time_limit($limit);
  }
}
