Look at the code in:

 

/catalog/index.php

 

Somewhere around line 298 you will find a table:

 

<td class="pageHeading" align="right"></td>

 

The php code in the table refers to the graphic you are trying to remove.

 

Remove the code and leave the table structure as above.
