Displaying Stock Levels on Client Side

I was curious if someone can help me with displaying stock levels on the client side.

I need to display the stock level just above the date added line.

 

I know that I have to add it in the product_info.php page but I am having some problems querying the db. Can someone help me out.

In admin under Configuration-Product Listing, set 'Display Product Quantity' with a value.
