Guest Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 Where is the code located at the top of the page. I have my config file permission set to 444 but I continue to receive a warning at the top of the page. I would like to disable this feature but I am not sure where the code is.

The warnings CAN be disabled, but you have to remember- they are there for your protection... Go ahead and try setting permissions to 644 inststead of 444, and see if those warnings go away. :-) -Jyn =======,+'^'+,=============================== Jyn Meyer `+,.,+' Be Glad the world sucks- if it didn't we would all fall off. ===========================================
241 Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 chmod 644 is a lesser state than 444 so if you have the warning on 444 then you will have the warning on 644 There are many warnings is your warning able to write to the configure.php file or another warning you did not say what the warning was No longer giving free advice. What would be the proper chmod for that one? =======,+'^'+,=============================== Jyn Meyer `+,.,+' Be Glad the world sucks- if it didn't we would all fall off. ===========================================

What would be the proper chmod for that one? Not sure what you mean? 444 is a read only state ehre as 644 has a write state for the owner. There is no correct setting as such as it depends on the server configuration. Some will be ok with 644 and others will need 444 and some wont be able to set 644 or 444 due to the host not allowing the user permission to set as low as 644 wherby the person would have to contact the host and ask the host to set the permissions for the file. Have we established what the warning is and whether it is relative to the configure.php file or if it is another warning such as downloads or tmp etc. No longer giving free advice.
