Guest Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 Is there a program I can install so that I can test my programming on a local server prior to uploading it up on to my ISP. I saw a thread that mentioned this and I was wondering how to go about doing this?

♥Vger Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 The component parts you'll need (if you don't want the package listed above), are 1. To install PHP on your local machine 2. Install MySQL 3. Install PHP MyAdmin 4. Install a web server. Most use Apache, but it's a large download, so I use Xitami (only 1Mb), works the same (www.imatix.com) and is much easier to install. Hope this helps - Vger

masat Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 You could also take a look at apache2triad.sourceforge.net. It is a complete apache web server for the local windows install with all the goodies precompiled and ready to roll. Very nice. Tim How do you know when you know what you want to do for the rest of your life?
dotty Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 I recommend firepages.com.au for the bundle software - they also have a perl & asp add on you could try. ...dotty
