Klaus Barbie Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 I would like to run 2 OS stores on my server account. I have only possibility to use one database. Is it possible to force OS to use prefix 'shop1_' & 'shop2_' when creating and using SQL tables? How to do it... and not forget about sth? :D
detsouvalas Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 OK, please note that I have not done this before, but I was curious about that issue so I made a small research in osC files! I would say, YES, it is possible for two or more shops to share the same database because you have a manual possibility to change the table's names used by osC (I always refer to a standard osC installation, or using well programmed/installed mods!). The table names are defined in file catalog/includes/database_tables.php and in admin/includes/database_tables.php, so if you alter those table names your osC shop will use the new tables. I don't think that it is difficult to have two shops on one virtual server, it will need some time and a good text/code editor to accomplish it! If you need more details and assistance on how to do this 'dual' installation, let me know on this forum! Regards, Antonios Antonios
Guest Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 Or you could use the Database Table Prefix Contribution. Just give each store its own prefix.
